The trigger releases the air supply driving the piston 4 inches forward against the tool bit for powerful impact, and the air returns the piston for quick cutting. (approximately 2200 blows per minute). The longer piston stroke and higher air pressure give the rescuer enough power to cut concrete and even 1/4 inch plate steel.
